Since being back in Cleveland I have had two HS wrestling programs tell me their numbers were down because their football coaches discourage wrestling. This morning I got a text from an NFL line coach bragging to me about his players using wrestling for football tactics 🧐
Celebrating the success of others is the best way to cleanse your heart of bitterness. Don’t let jealousy make you start hating on someone that you should be learning from.
Hate that coach who works you too hard, always on you, expectations seemingly to high? Wait until you play for a coach who doesnt care. You’ll realize how lucky you were.
"Remember why you started...Think about that little 8-year-old kid that said, 'I want to be a national champ someday'."

So we throw around the term stud loosely......but Josh Hokit (Fresno St) had 6 carries against Boise St on December 1st and then he became an All-American Wrestler!!!!
Strange how some parents know the following about their child: teammate/parent names, HS offensive/defensive plays, rankings, HS practice/game schedule, coaching staff, game avgs., trainers, etc. But some of us don’t know the teachers or principal, current GPA or SAT/ACT schedule
My favorite thing about the sport of wrestling has always been the “chosen suffering”. The necessity to sacrifice more & deeper when resistance comes. Because of that requirement I have always been drawn to the deep respect among those who partake. Honor & respect among foes!

“If you go to class & you do average work - you get a C - that’s why it’s called average. If you want a B - you have to do more work & if you want an A you have to do even more work. You have to give up stuff - you have to sacrifice.”
