🛑This is a case of pan-drug resistant (PDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and treatment becomes extremely challenging.
💊Last-Resort Treatment Options (off-label/experimental) :
🔺️a) Combination Therapy :
📍Use double-carbapenem therapy (e.g., ertapenem + meropenem) — some studies show synergy.
📍High-dose fosfomycin (IV) (if available and organism tested susceptible).
🔺️b) Novel Agents (if accessible)
📍Ceftolozane-tazobactam
📍Ceftazidime-avibactam
📍Cefiderocol — very effective against PDR Pseudomonas but expensive and not widely available in all countries.
The behaviour, the audacity, the humiliation
The respected doctor is a public servant, not your servant.
For your own PR, you have sacked him on the video and berated him in front of everyone
Pathetic indian politicians
Doctors deserve respect!
#doctors#medicos#politics
1. It was not some life threatening emergency or even a major health issue. It was just an injection to be given.
2. You walked with camera recording and humiliated a medical officer on duty.
3. If your purpose was to help people, set up OPDs on Sunday or injection rooms.
4. The language and the manner you spoke was not like a minister. It was more like a road side hooligan. People will take your example and verbally/physically attack doctors and medical staff tomorrow. You're setting a precedent.
5. Learn how to officially handle matters without cameras and sensationalism.
6. People like you are the reason why doctors don't like working in govt hospitals.
7. Do not make doctors the scapegoats for your govt's inefficiencies.
🚨BREAKING: Resident doctors of Goa have given a 48 hour ultimatum to the Health Minister, otherwise GARD will go on indefinite strike!
Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tried to give a political masterclass at Goa Medical College (GMC) yesterday following the 2 Rs toolkit for cheap political publicity:
1. March into a casualty ward with your camera crew.
2. Bark orders at the doctor on call.
3. Declare yourself the people’s messiah.
But he forgot that doctors have had enough of this political hooliganism!
Resident doctors of Goa have now given a 48 hour ultimatum to the Health Minister, otherwise the poor people of his state will have to suffer if GARD goes on strike!
🚨 For those unaware, here’s what has happened in the last 24 hours:
A doctor at Goa Medical College Casualty has become a scapegoat, all thanks to Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. In a shocking viral video likely spearheaded by his PR Team, Rane stormed into the hospital camera crew in tow and publicly humiliated and suspended the doctor, simply for following established medical protocol by refusing a routine Vitamin B12 injection in casualty.
To gain cheap publicity, the minister arrogantly shouted at the doctor:
✅“Put your hands down!”
✅“Lower your mask!” (despite ongoing COVID threats)
✅“I’ll suspend you for two years!”
Here’s the reality: Vitamin B12 injections aren’t emergencies. Casualties are meant for urgent, life-threatening cases, not political video-ops.
The moment that video hit social media and gained public criticism instead of applause, Rane’s PR team aka “political chappris started damage control.
A carefully vetted, hypocritical apology followed, pretending concern and empathy. This isn’t compassion. It’s political hooliganism. Such stunts steadily erode public trust in doctors. It’s not just wrong, it’s dangerous and we cannot take this lightly.
The Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has issued a powerful 48-hour ultimatum demanding:
✅ Immediate revocation of the suspension with fair inquiry.
✅ Public apology by Minister Rane.
✅ Ban on filming inside emergency patient-care areas.
✅ End of VIP culture & political bullying in hospitals.
If demands aren’t met: GARD goes on indefinite strike.
Rane’s actions are calculated abuses of power. Ministers must remember they’re elected to serve, not intimidate.
Hooliganism belongs on the streets, not in hospitals. If Rane has any decency left, he must immediately resign or issue an unconditional apology.
We must stand together as doctors, patients and citizens against this dangerous political circus destroying country’s healthcare system and show these miscreants the place where they actually belong!
Only in India can patients with chronic diseases skip follow-ups for months or years — and then demand instant appointments or replies, often with rudeness if we can’t deliver immediately. We understand life gets in the way, but timely care requires timely visits. If we’re talking about reforms in medical practice, let’s also talk about the need for patient responsibility, respect, and regularity.
