BREAKING: U.S. Customs and Border Protection humiliates Donald Trump by revealing that their officers are busting more people smuggling eggs into America than fentanyl.

This might be funny if it weren't so alarming...

According to CBP data, there has been a 36% increase in attempted egg smuggling since last October — with the city of San Diego alone seeing a 158% increase in these efforts.

Customs officers have seized a staggering 3,768 poultry-related products compared to just 352 fentanyl busts.

The increased egg smuggling is a direct result of the current supply scarcity which has caused prices to skyrocket. Over 166 million birds have been culled to fight the worst outbreak of avian flu in years. As demand goes unmet, smugglers are moving in to fill the gap.

As of last month, a dozen A-grade large eggs costs $5.90, which is close to double what they cost at the same time last year as well as the highest price ever recorded.

Donald Trump has failed this test of leadership by refusing to offer any relief or vision for a solution. In fact, his primary communication on the crisis to date was when he shared an article entitled: "Shut Up About Egg Prices—Trump Is Saving Consumers Millions."

The truth is that Trump doesn't care about issues that affect average Americans. He promised to lower grocery prices but has done the exact opposite. The only thing he truly cares about his lining his own pockets and those of his cronies.
