#OTD in 1923 athlete Fred Thomas was born in Windsor. Fred Thomas became known as “one of Canada’s finest ever basketball players." #DYK he also joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot in 1943, earning his wings and serving until 1945.
#OTD we recognize International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. Sadly, slavery persists in many corners of the world through practices such as forced labour, debt bondage, forced marriage, and human trafficking.
