Here is a nice illustration of the phenomenon, where a random incident involving a journalist in Brussels brings to the surface the tension between the official narrative about immigration and reality in Europe, producing cognitive dissonance and even guilt that require a conscious effort of self-rectification on his part in a sort of internal struggle session to restore balance. I think future generations will find this fascinating and be amused that we didn't see the similarities between that kind of socio-psychological process and similar phenomena in totalitarian societies of the past.

I get so hyped being in New York

I absolutely love it, so many cool things to do, I’m out every day walking the whole day, meeting cool people

Dozens of people have asked to meet, I want to try meet everyone possible but it’s difficult cause I have to sort through so many notifications on my phone

I walk past shops and I want to go into every single one

I go into bookstore and I want to get almost every book

New York has awesome kino movie theatres that play total kino so I want to watch every movie

I have like three Substack articles I need to write, when I travel I find it really difficult to sit down and do long form writing

I have taken hundreds of photos and dozens of videos every day that I have to go through to work out which to post

What can I do

I was just walking through Chinatown and I almost stepped on a dead pigeon with its guts out right next to a bunch of homeless people sleeping in the street. I then turned around an old guy spat at the ground right next to me.

It’s very interesting cause like 2 streets away you have a bunch of cool trendy art gf stores where a bunch of stylish, cool, sophisticated and hot young people of all different races just chill together in peace. So you have actually existing successful 2000s globalisation aesthetic multiculturalism but then 2 streets away you have YooKayification - pigeon with its guts out and crazy mentally ill hobos sleeping on the street.

How does this work? I am really interested in this cause America seems to have pockets of absolutely amazing successful modernity just coexisting next to massive social decay and collapse.
