Eagles/Chargers 2005: The Matt Ware Game

One of the most iconic special teams TDs in Eagles history overshadowed what was actually a defensive clinic.

The Eagles held Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson to 7 yards on 17 carries and sacked Drew Brees three times, yet the offense struggled just as much. In the 4th, McNabb threw a pick and later turned it over on downs as the Chargers were set to go up 20-13 with only a few minutes left in the game.

Then it happened.

Quintin Mikell blocks the FG, Matt Ware scoops and scores, and instead of being down 7 the Eagles were suddenly up 3 and the Linc was alive again.

The Chargers still had 1 more chance as Brees drove into FG range, but Sheldon Brown forced a game winning fumble, sealing a miraculous 20-17 win.
