My daughter Seylah is playing 15U Adidas 3SSB as an 11 year old. This past weekend, she finished as the 2nd leading scorer (18.3ppg) in the first session of Adidas 3SSB in Texas. It was an amazing experience in terms of the competition & seeing all the great coaches and programs.
Love athletes who play with passion & act like they are having fun when they are playing the game (especially in big games). To play w/ swagger & so much belief in yourself is inspiring to others. UCLA's softball star Jordan Woolery might do this more than any player i've seen.
Extremely grateful that Jason Williams (White Chocolate) made me realize how great NCAA women’s softball is. This Texas Tech vs UCLA women’s game in the World Series is absolute cinema. 6-6 now in the bottom of the 7th inning after an unreal home run to tie it by UCLA.
One of the most important things for a talented young player to learn is to become a great screener. Set good screens that get your teammates open, particularly back screens. Getting someone else open is one of the best ways to get the ball in your hands.
Life moves faster than ever now.
What Kobe, Mike and LeBron did was legendary. We can’t assume careers like that are normal.
Before OKC lost tonight, people were talking about the next 10 years.
Greatness is hard. Longevity is even harder.
Feels like Wemby has put in 20 years of work to get to this point and he is all of 22 years old. This man is one of one. More mature at this age than LeBron and Kobe, better team around him at this age than MJ had and just beat a potential dynastic team on the road in game 7.
@greggillman10@OhioTate Could’ve saved this tweet because it was clearly a typo. I realized it after the fact and didn’t think I needed to correct it. The game was great tho and I’m an NCAA girls softball fan now.
@DRIVEBasketball Use film & accolades.
Film seems to be the common teaching strategy that most students can relate too.
Show that clip at your next practice & explain the error that lead to a now famous trivia answer.
Luke Kornet
@DRIVEBasketball If you get in front you slow him down, the key is don’t bring attention onto yourself like boxing out. I call those “absolute concentration plays”
@coachraso That’s a great observation coach. Did you want him to run through or try to basically block him out? I’ve had smart players try to block someone out in that situation and get called. The run through sometimes leads to the timing block like Jr did for Bron.
They don’t guard each other but Wemby vs SGA is a real head to head rivalry. Both of them are the head of the snake. SGA will watch video and work on finishing vs Wemby all summer (floaters, get to his body etc). This rivalry goes deeper than the NBA, it’s also France vs Canada.
@MikeJonesScout@MaxBarkeley What’s the least they give up and how much does Giannis change ur timeline? How much does his dump truck style of play really help OKC? I’m not sure he’s the answer.
@foster0651 I hear where you are coming from and it was close but SGA was the regular season MVP once again imo. Wemby beating him in the WCF doesn’t change what SGA did during the regular season again and what OKC did.
Watching Wemby celebrate the WCF title was a reminder that greatness isn’t just talent.
To whom much is given, much is required.
Wemby has been told he’s special his entire life.
But it’s the humility, gratitude, and love he shows for his teammates that’s most impressive.
Spurs are playing like they all know what @BillSimmons calls “The Secret.”
“The secret of basketball is that it’s not about basketball.”
Team chemistry matters the most.
We are looking at a Finals where two teams are playing with the ultimate team chemistry.
