🌀 Introducing BIP Land 🌀

BIP Land profiles the biggest organizational challenge facing Bitcoin today: change

Bitcoin as a protocol is inherently resistant to change. And that is largely a good thing! But over time, this resistance has morphed into something ugly and intractable. We've gone from Bitcoin should be very thoughtful about change to Bitcoin CANNOT change. In that sense, Bitcoin is currently broken.

There are a myriad of reasons we find ourselves in this current state (article coming soon!) For now, I think it's enough to step back and admit that we are currently stuck. It's no one's fault, but the stakeholders and power structures within Bitcoin have left meaningful protocol changes dead on arrival.

BIP Land is my attempt to elucidate the softfork process in a lighthearted but cutting manner. As you navigate ACK-NACK Minesweeper and visit The Mines, pay attention to the history contained within each step. Whether you're a first time Bitcoiner or have been here since the genesis block, I believe there is something in BIP Land for you.

To the grey beards:
I hope BIP Land prompts some reflection about the current state of our organization. There are some hard truths scattered about the stick figures and flavor text. I believe the first step in any successful softfork will require forgiving the sins of the past, putting aside our politics, and reaffirming our desire to do what is best for Bitcoin.

To the newcomers:
Study BIP Land. Understand the history of Bitcoin. If we truly want to make Bitcoin the paragon for innovation in crypto, we cannot let the protocol remain stagnant.

I believe that 2024 will be the year we reignite innovation on Bitcoin itself, and I hope that BIP Land serves as a springboard for the wizardry to come 🧙‍♂️🪄 - Dr. DAO

Quantum Vault - An audited reference implementation for account abstraction

Post-quantum readiness must be achieved at all layers of the stack. We’ve worked with protocols on post-quantum testnets and hybrid signing models, deployed yellowpages as an attestation service for Bitcoin migration, proposed and optimized PQC algorithms, and proved BIP32 HD Wallets can work in a post-quantum world.

Today, we are releasing our latest contribution to the open-source blockchain community: two repositories on GitHub under Project Eleven. Libqc is a TypeScript SDK for ERC-4337 account abstraction with parallel Bitcoin support, and quantum-vault is a browser-extension vault built on libqc. Both are MIT-licensed and have been audited by Cure53. They are reference implementations; not production wallets.

Wanna give a BIG shoutout to @BobbyShakesX for everything he's done for the @Parasite_wtf community!

Bobby's been an @OrdinalMaxiBiz holder since late 2023 and is the Chief Recruitment Officer for @Parasite_wtf where he helps to onboard home miners to the Pool and OMB communities.

He runs his own Discord server just for Parasite miners and he facilitated the creation of a hash rental bot and now site where Parasite miners can easily rent hash rate to support the Pool!

He's also responsible for the creation of the first official OMB gallery inscribed on chain at ORDnet.

Bobby works tirelessly in support of @OrdinalMaxiBiz and @Parasite_wtf. During the 4/20 BLOCK party he was hemmed up with irl work meetings all day but still found time to check in with us throughout the day and ensure rentals were running smoothly.

I see the time and effort he puts in on a daily basis. @Parasite_wtf is a MASSIVE undertaking with many moving parts and those who put in the work day after day to make it happen deserve to be recognized IMO.
