Luis Enrique on why PSG only scored one goal against Arsenal in the UCL final:
๐ฃ๏ธ โPeople are asking why we only scored one goal, but football is about what the opponent allows you to do.
After Arsenal got their goal, they went straight back and started defending with almost everyone behind the ball.
They stopped taking risks, stopped pressing high, and focused on protecting the lead.
You could see the difference compared to our game against Bayern Munich. Against Bayern, there were spaces everywhere. The game was open, transitions were open, and we could attack with freedom.
Tonight was different.
Every time we got into the final third, there were bodies everywhere. It felt like Arsenal were defending their own penalty area with ten players.
I'm not criticising them it's a final and every team chooses its approach. But when a team spends most of the game protecting a lead, it naturally becomes harder to create clear chances.
We kept pushing, we kept believing, and eventually we found the equaliser.
But if Arsenal had come out and played more openly, I think everyone knows the game would have looked very different.โ
