Behind every emergency response is a Fire Control team.

As firefighters continue to respond to wildfires and other incidents , Fire Control teams have been working around the clock, dealing with thousands of calls & coordinating resources in extremely challenging conditions.

[North West Fire Control @NW_Fire_Control]

A huge thank you to our amazing control room & support staff who are working tirelessly. From supporting wildfires to water rescues across the region, to supporting colleagues in the Fire & Rescue Services. Your hard work & contribution is appeciated & makes a difference.

‼️ Please only call 999 if there is an emergency or a fire producing significant smoke. We have had a high volume of calls to our 999 control room this evening. We understand residents may be concerned, but we are unable to respond to reports of neighbours having BBQs, bonfires or campfires in their gardens unless there is an emergency.

We support the Government's message on this and would strongly advise against having bonfires, fireworks, campfires or disposable BBQs during this period. Fires can spread quickly and become difficult to control, putting your home and neighbouring properties at risk.

We’re getting lots of calls from residents across north Devon concerned about a smell of smoke.

We have no incidents in the area. The smell is likely from the ongoing wildfire in south Wales.

Please only call if you see evidence of a fire, such as smoke or the fire itself.
