This should make NHSE squirm.
These meds have been shown to have huge health benefits WHICH WILL SAVE MONEY LONG TERM.
But no, let’s ration them cos god forbid people with obesity should have evidence based treatment
✨NEW in the British Journal of Midwifery
▶️Diabetes tech is transforming pregnancy care but technology alone isn’t enough
▶️Highlights a gap between the rapid rollout of CGM & HCL & maternity workforce confidence
@Moodwife@drpratikc
📉 Midwives reported 🔽 confidence across all diabetes tech domains compared to DSNs
Why it matters:
👶 Inconsistent advice
👶 Delayed recognition of issues
👶 Increased pressure on DSN teams
👶 Women feeling unsupported
▶️Focus needed on education of #diabetes in #pregnancy
We are so thrilled to be receiving the Global Health Award for “Specialist Nurse Award for Diabetes Care Pathway”together as a trio
Huge thanks to Silverstar Diabetes.
Cannot wait to meet everyone at the House of Commons & share our love for the DSN community we’ve built 💙
@amybetic@GBDocInfo The settings do not automatically move over and the algorithm has to learn your requirements again so be careful and speak to your dsn 😁
@ABCDiab@DSNforumUK@DTN_UK notice from @SanofiUK about supply issues with Trurapi Solostar pens.. Avoid new starts.. fi someone is low on stock maybe make sure they get early access to alternative rapid acting insulin
“No diagnosis except diabetes”😣
People with Type 1 diabetes may need extra time because their blood sugar can suddenly go too high/low, which can cause shaking, confusion, fatigue, blurry vision, or slowed thinking.
They may also need time to check glucose, take insulin 1/2
eat, or treat a low, all of which interrupts concentration.
So if they need breaks, it’s not unfair advantage, it’s equal access, because their medical condition can directly affect performance.
Let’s not judge any diagnosis if you don’t have any knowledge 2/2 #gbdoc

@MBDscience This is where equality falls down.
My daughter gets extra time for diagnosed adhd.
My friends daughters school told her she gets extra time but they don't know why. She has no diagnosis except diabetes.
It's no longer levelling the playing field.

When I started selling Lyla’s Law pin badges, I initially raised £1200 for Breakthrough T1D. When a lovely lady sorted me out with t-shirts, I promised to raise another £6000 for them. We are now just £500 short of delivering that promise in memory of our little girl. Come on, let’s smash this tonight!
