Gus Newport was a civil rights activist and leader of change. The former mayor of Berkeley, California, he spent his life nourishing community-building initiatives and fighting to end gentrification and apartheid. His mission was to shift power and translate dreams into reality.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Gus Newport. In memory of his legacy there is a screening of Holding Ground, the documentary featuring his leadership of DSNI.
