I have decided that when the time comes for me to write my dissertation dedication, I am going to thank the people (i.e. my cousins) who puppy-sat for me so I could see clients/patients, collect data, and write. 🐾
Clinical psych has become so competitive, unfair, and inaccessible that even the well-established clinical psychologists I look up to have said they wouldn’t have gotten in if they applied today. Some programs I applied to received more than 800 applicants for only 5-10 spots.
