There have been over 5 million total 18-game spans by players in MLB's modern era.
In none of them did a player have as many hits, doubles, triples, homers & steals as the @Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong over his last 18 games:
34 hits
5 doubles
2 triples
9 home runs
6 stolen bases
On this day in 1996, Michael Jordan won his fourth NBA championship on Father’s Day.
The live broadcast cut to the locker room after MJ was already on the floor. The cameras stayed on him for 37 seconds as he cried, before the cameraman was eventually escorted out.
@EVR551 One of my favorite things is once the season is over and reading about all the injuries that guys played through. They just have different DNA.
Most athletes obsess over outcomes. Points. Offers. Minutes. Rankings. Starting spots. Winning. But the best (and happiest!) players seem to be obsessed with trajectory. Are you improving? Are you building habits? Are you stacking disciplined days? ARE YOU MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? The pain of extra shots, conditioning, film study, hard coaching, and discipline weighs ounces. The pain of looking back wishing you would’ve gone all in weighs tons. Most players overestimate what happens in one workout… and underestimate what happens in 3 years of consistency. Don’t obsess over the scoreboard every day. Obsess over the direction!
@pat_timlin@WISN12News They enjoy playing the “underdog” card so when they lose they can play the “low payroll” card. They draft, scout and develop better than any team in the league, and everyone knows it. This mentality is just annoying.
@ctrent It’s because we actually have fans attend our games, and they are paying attention to the game. I hope you enjoyed the ninth inning last night.
Serve first. Win later.
Most people want it the other way around.
“Your job is not to be here for yourself. It is to be here for everybody else.”
- Ben McCollum GOLD 🥇
@tylerLtomlinson Iowa state, Illinois and Nebraska were in rough shape when these guys took over, and they’ve done it with coaching and culture more than NIL. They should not be at the bottom of the list. McCollum will not be at the bottom for long.
Caleb Williams says Ben Johnson was pretty upset at first about his wild TD against the Rams.
Caleb then broke down his thought process during the play.
Even Maxx Crosby couldn’t believe it.
