@CowdenbeathFC Poor from the @spfl. Invitations to participate in the competition should have been on merit, not rewarding failure to finish in the top 5. Yet again Cowdenbeath get a cash windfall from their old paymaster, absolutely zero sporting integrity
@Mickkennedy1904 EC'S off field struggles over the past couple of years look as if they are resurfacing again. If they loose the playoffs, will they even survive to field a team in next seasons Lowland League East ?
@BarryAnderson_ Open up the leagues, automatic promotion/relegation i 100% agree with. But Clydebank should not take Linlithgows place, Highland League winners have already set the precedent in previous seasons
@__dazza__@SPFLpyramid@ScottishFA@ScottBurns75 Sporting merit means nothing to to them, the very same governing body that hand picked former SPFL clubs relegated to the Lowland League, to participate in the 2024 Challenge Cup, rather than invite the teams that finished in the top 6 league positions, 100% corrupt to the core
@HotchkissRhona@clydebankfc Been saying this for years, winners automatically promoted, bottom two relegated, but SPFL will do anything to protect club 42s league status. Other than Bonnyrigg this season, every team relegated into the LL has struggled, that tells the real story.
SPFL Pyramid Play-Off Competition
Unfortunately, our application for a period of grace to fulfil the required criteria for our SFA Bronze Licence was declined by the SPFL Board.
On this basis we are not eligible to participate in the Pyramid Play-Off Competition.
We are taking the necessary steps to enable the Club to be considered for an SFA Bronze Licence at its next annual assessment.
@The_Thirty_ From next season, the 3 winners from tier 5 should all get promoted, and team 40/41/42 relegated. You can see that nearly all the former SPFL clubs, currently in tier 5 are struggling to compete, yet promoted teams are pushing on so surely thats better for Scottish football?
