Rat exoskeleton for neurorehabilitation research! 🐭
‼️ No rats were harmed during the experiment! ‼️
University of Tsukuba and Nagoya University developed the first rodent exoskeleton supporting an entire rat hindlimb.
Weighs only 80 grams (1/4 body weight), uses Bowden cables and direct-drive motors for lightweight, backdrivable design.
It's completely non-invasive. It's mechanically designed to move safely with the animal.
It will be presented at ICRA in Vienna next week!
