It’s been a minute.

2015–2018
- Exited FreeCharge. Spent time learning and investing.
- Pondered about: Why can't trust be rewarded? Started with $1M of personal capital.
- Launched CRED to reward people for paying credit card bills on time.

2019–2025
- Built a system run by a team that values ownership, judgment, and craft.
- Grew from 0 to 17M members by aligning incentives with behaviour.
- Built several products during COVID lockdowns.
- Raised $900M+ from global investors. Did 4 ESOP buybacks.
- Made Indiranagar and IPL ads slightly more interesting.
- Received a full stack of regulatory licences.
- Lost 35 kilos.
- Scaled from 0 to ~$325M ( ~₹3,200 crore) in annual revenue across payments, lending, insurance, commerce, wealth, and credit cards.
2026
- First profitable quarter (yet occasionally asked what our business model is)
- Raised another $900M from Meta in primary and secondary capital.
- Announcing our 5th ESOP buyback.

Today

CRED is ready for its next phase. I am stepping back and @miten steps in as interim CEO, partnered with an incredibly talented team. He has been heading strategy and finance and suffering me since 2020. I’m stepping away from the operating role and will continue as a shareholder. My commitment doesn’t change. Just the role.

Extremely grateful to our members, partners, regulators, and investors who made this possible. And to our board, Shailendra, Micky, Saurabh for their extraordinary conviction.

Team CRED, I’ll still expect you to be a 10x version of yourselves.

As for me, I’ll be joining Meta to lead WhatsApp globally.

Meta comes in as a minority investor in CRED. No access to member data.

While it’s come very far, the delta between WhatsApp today and its full potential is massive. I look forward to working with Mark, Chris, and the leadership across Meta for the next step in WhatsApp’s journey. Will, thank you for scaling something the world relies on quietly, and for making this transition smooth.

Google which is cash surplus, just announced an additional capital raise of $80 bn.
Google annual profit is $160 bn, last quarter $62 bn, and market cap $4.5 trillion. That is close to total profits and market cap of all Indian listed companies put together.
It’s a wake up call to all companies to invest into the future, whatever the present maybe.
Now that IPL is done and dusted, time for India to focus on business of business.

बिहार की मिट्टी ने देश को बहुत से बेहतरीन क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी दिए हैं।

पटना में जन्मे ईशान किशन ने सबसे कम गेंदों में ODI double century लगाई। समस्तीपुर के वैभव सूर्यवंशी सबसे कम उम्र में IPL debut करने वाले खिलाड़ी बने। और गोपालगंज के साधारण परिवार में जन्मे साकिब हुसैन की शानदार गेंदबाजी पर आज पूरी दुनिया की नज़रें हैं।

लेकिन एक बात मुझे हमेशा खलती है कि हमारे बिहार को क्रिकेट में अब भी वह नाम और पहचान क्यों नहीं मिल पा रही जिसके हम हकदार हैं।

मेरा हमेशा से यह सपना और प्रयास रहा है कि बिहार के युवाओं को हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ने का पूरा मौका मिले, हमारे खिलाड़ियों को भी world class infrastructure और support बिहार में ही मिलना चाहिए। मुझे पूरा भरोसा है कि अगर हमारे बच्चों को सही प्रेरणा और सुविधाएं मिलें, तो हमारे बिहार से बनने वाली टीम दुनिया की बेस्ट टीम होगी।

और मैं इस काम में बिहार के युवाओं के साथ पूरी मज़बूती से खड़ा हूँ। बिहार की क्रिकेट टीम और यहाँ के खिलाड़ियों को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए मैं अपनी तरफ से unconditional support दूंगा।

बिहार मेरे लिए सिर्फ एक राज्य नहीं, एक emotion है।

और अब वक्त आ गया है कि हमारी मिट्टी का talent मैदान पर दिखे।

Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL), the Hyderabad-based laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have successfully conducted an extensive long-duration test of its Actively Cooled Full Scale Scramjet Combustor, achieving a run time of over 1200 seconds at its state-of-the-art Scramjet Connect Pipe Test (SCPT) Facility today.
