Unless you’re just completely disengaged from the art you consume this is something you realize by the time you’re 14. It’s like reading 1984 and being shocked decades later that it might actually be an anti-surveillance, anti-authoritarian novel.
@mkhammer A ‘fun thing’ about America’s character is we are so blindly patriotic that we change the meaning of protest songs tapping into where we need to look in the mirror? Should U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday be an anthem for British loyalists? Maybe we can chug beers to Goodnight, Saigon?

And then the Sox blew a 4-0 lead.
Pat Ryan on the War Powers vote: "These chickenhawk motherfuckers are gonna send us home for Memorial Day weekend where I'm gonna honor my veterans that I served 27 months in combat with and they're gonna not even give an up or down vote on continuing this war almost 3 months in while Americans are paying almost $5 at the pump. It is fucking pathetic when they use this procedural bullshit argument and every American should just be absolutely outraged about this, it is a disgrace" (Video: @EricMGarcia)
