@omarisankofa What do you think the end game is here from Durens camp? He’s hasn’t formally requested a trade, he hasn’t signed the QO, but his agent keeps bringing up his feeling of being disrespected. It feels like Trajan doesn’t think the threat of him signing the QO is real.
@KuKhahil If he goes this route, he needs to hire a new agent. Assuming Detroit has 175/5 on the table today, if he takes the QO and signs with Sac next year at a max, most he’ll get 186/5 (QO+ max). Just an insane risk for 2M AAV benefit.
@KuKhahil The longer this goes, the more convinced I think he’s threatening the nuclear option of signing the QO and demanding a trade to Sacramento. Sacramento cap opens significantly next year and we’ve seen players get the wink wink nod agreement on extensions in trades before.
@KuKhahil Dude, Siegel is not a reliable source at all. Im sure the Detroit offer is closer to $35M. At $25M, he’s gonna just sign the QO and just get to UFA next offseason.
@zariqxavier I’ll be interested to see if they offer sheet Duren or Kessler. Huge risk to tie up all their cap space on contracts that both teams probably match.
@Brady_Fred Which would be pretty crazy considering he’d be leaving roughly 25-30M on the table this year doing that. Pistons would still have bird rights and he would likely need them to sign and trade him next year to get the value he’s looking for.
@KuKhahil What team do you think would legitimately give him an offer sheet? Wouldn’t make sense for the Nets, the Lakers could, but they would have almost all their cap tied up in Luka/Duren/Reaves. Chicago might, but a front court of Duren/Matas/Caleb would get absolutely torched.
@Graham_Couch@chrissolari Hypothetically speaking, if MSU had an extra ~3M in NIL funding, would their record be any different? The Nebraska, UCLA and Michigan games were lost because of poor coaching more than anything else. If MSU was losing solely based on talent discrepancy, I’d be more sympathetic.
@kylemetz23 My bad, I guess I don’t full understand the mechanics of the TPE. But didn’t Atlanta just absorb all of NAW into the TPE they had for a 2nd round pick?
@lazchance I have to believe we would have taken him at the deadline last year when Memphis attached a FRP to get off his contract if we had legitimate interest. I think I’d prefer to just re-sign Schroeder as a backup PG since we have his bird rights, but I wouldn’t hate this.
@WorldofIsaac I wish I had something more profound to say then the other 3K+ people who’ve commented on this, but thanks for simply being the best Andy. Genuinely one of the best representatives of Detroit spirit. Don’t think I ever have or ever will see anyone more universally loved by all.
