We will light a candle and safely put it in our windows at 8pm this evening – to remember those who were murdered for who they were. To stand against hatred and prejudice in the world today.

@DTA_History There is just so much to love about this 🤩😍 Yes please, I think a joint house competition is a brilliant idea. In fact I reckon we could do several... just thinking about some of the wonderful work you and Miss McEntee have been doing recently to diversify our curriculums
Just look at this beautiful artistic representation of the Suffragettes, by Nabihah in year 8 ❤️ @dtatextiles we are sensing a joint house competition in the next academic year?!
We are so pleased that year 8 have enjoyed their distance learning on WW1 & the Suffragettes (albeit very sad we haven’t been able to discuss it with them in person)! We are also just as excited as they are to be back in the classroom together 💛
Historical Inspiration of the week: ‘A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history’ - Ghandi - consider today what your sentence is. How have you shown determination to reach the top of your mountain? #purpose
‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’ - MLK Jr. - At a time when we are seeing so much anger and frustration at the inequality experienced by many, remember that showing love can unite us all against hate.
Despite not being in the classroom, year 10 have been working hard to develop their ability to draw sophisticated inferences from sources. These students have done a fantastic job! Well done to Aamina Sarina and Zainab! #mastery#autonomy#history#sourceskills
Historical Inspiration of the week: ‘If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.’ - Martin Luther King Jr. - Lockdown is hard. Don’t be hard on yourself. Just keep moving forward.
Historical Inspiration of the week here to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day from our very own Winston Churchill - “My dear friends, this is your hour. This is not victory of a party or of any class. It's a victory of the great British nation as a whole”. - 8 May 1945
