Colombia's outgoing left-wing President Gustavo Petro cut diplomatic ties with Israel, condemning its genocide in Gaza. The US regime demonized Petro as a "Marxist terrorist" and imposed sanctions on him.

The US blatantly meddled in Colombia's election in order to put in power the new, incoming far-right US puppet President Abelardo de la Espriella, a multimillionaire dual US citizen who is closely linked to drug trafficking and organized crime.
