@maybestudysome@d2fl@WalshFreedom Pressuring the Georgia Secretary of State over the phone to find the votes needed to win is absolutely not the legal and appropriate process for challenging the results of an election. I don’t know you but I trust that you know this.
@d2fl@WalshFreedom And why did he want them to “find” that particular number of votes? He wanted them to “find” precisely the number of votes needed to win? Yeah that’s not shady at all and no one would mind if Biden had done that (sarcasm)
@LennieOurs@grantpaulsen Right but they can’t send him into that 5th season on an expiring contract. That would force them to either franchise tag him for year 6 or potentially lose him. (Neither scenario is good.) So they’d need to decide sooner and lock him up. I think that’s what Grant’s driving at
@JohnnieMarket @TalkNats Burnes himself said on a podcast (Foul Territory) that the O’s had wanted him for a while but Elias told him they had to wait for the sale to go through
@jscrogg35@air1azo Agreed. Before you joined the thread others immediately turned the discussion to gang violence. They like to conflate gang violence with mass shootings as a distraction because they don’t actually want anything to change.
@jscrogg35@air1azo You may very well be correct. But this entire discussion started because of a mass shooting TODAY at the Super Bowl parade. And conveniently the convo shifted to gang violence. Mass shootings have gotten out of control and it’s an entirely separate issue from gang/drug violence
@SteveSix11 Nice try.
The ATF actually studied this in cities nationwide. And from 2017-2021, they determined that 8,200 guns used in Chicago crimes were traced to Indiana. Which is a significant chunk
@jscrogg35@air1azo I never said MOST were bought in Indiana. I said “lots.” The ATF actually studied this in cities nationwide. And from 2017-2021, they determined that 8,200 guns used in Chicago crimes were traced to Indiana. Which is a significant chunk
@air1azo@KaseyaAsahi It’s the portion of gun violence that most impacts innocent people who are just going about their daily lives. And if you haven’t noticed they are happening with increasing regularity. From 1982-1991 in the US there were 12 mass shootings. In 2023 ALONE there were 12.
@air1azo@KaseyaAsahi Cool now let’s talk about mass shootings. Those are generally not gang/drug related. What do we do about those? Drug/gang violence is what folks point to as a distraction when a bunch of innocent people are shot up by a lunatic.
@air1azo Easily gotten from a more gun-friendly state. Sorry I thought that point was obvious since you mentioned Illinois having strict gun laws. Illinois can’t control the laws of neighboring states
@MarieTomao@lucifellestat29 @JoeyMannarinoUS “A president should never blame…”
If you held Trump to that standard you’d never vote for him again. Trump’s playbook is to never apologize, never accept blame—not even for the smallest transgression or the smallest slip of the tongue. It has worked for him but it is who he is
@ed_kleese@funnydanny@1067theFan I know lots of people who liked Washington Football Team. I don’t know anyone who likes Commanders. It’s not just about missing the original name. It’s about Commanders being a terrible name
@Mitch_Tischler Someone said Adam Peters is close with Ran Carthon, and that Carthon and Vrabel hate each other. Which may be why Vrabel hasn’t been interviewed
