Recently, Cambodia Power Grid Co., Ltd. launched a volunteer initiative in Pursat Province, bringing household electrical safety knowledge to local communities. Through on-site talks, info materials, and interactive Q&As, staff helped residents stay safe while using electricity, raising their safety awareness and strengthening community ties.

This week, China Datang CPG＆CHD held a badminton tournament for Chinese and Cambodian employees, as well as a volleyball competition for Cambodian employees. On the badminton court, Chinese and Cambodian colleagues competed with enthusiasm and worked in seamless coordination, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship through every rally. Volleyball is immensely popular among our Cambodian employees, and the exciting matches showcased their vitality, chemistry, and passion for the sport. Project: My Growth and Gains from Working at the Hydropower Station

When I first started working at the hydropower plant, I faced both professional and language challenges. My major is electrical engineering, and most of my previous studies were in English. However, the control systems, equipment names, operating procedures, and technical documents at the plant were mostly in Chinese. As a hydropower plant operator, I need to communicate with the National Control Center (NCC), adjust unit load, monitor important SCADA parameters, and respond to alarms in a timely manner to ensure the safe and stable operation of the plant.
To improve myself, I learned while working. I practiced drawing system diagrams, identified equipment at the site, recorded technical terms, and communicated with my Chinese colleagues. The Chinese and English training courses and technical training provided by the company also helped me greatly improve my professional knowledge and language skills.
Through working and living with my Chinese colleagues, I have also gained a better understanding of Chinese culture and developed closer friendships and mutual understanding. Looking back, I have grown from a new employee who could not understand Chinese and was unfamiliar with the equipment into an operator who can understand technical terms, identify equipment, and respond to SCADA alarms. I am grateful to the company and my colleagues for their guidance and support.

Recently, Laos' first green construction line in the power sector was put into operation at the construction site of a project invested and developed by China Datang Corporation. China Datang actively responded to the Lao government's call for a comprehensive shift towards electrified transportation, initially deploying eight V7X 6×4 electric dump trucks, and will continue to expand the number and scope of their use. Simultaneously, it has taken multiple measures to create a leading example of green and environmentally friendly power.

These outings have strengthened their friendship while making cultural exchange a natural part of their work and daily life.

At Pursat Substation of Cambodian Power Grid Co., Ltd., Chinese operator Jiang Zhilin and Cambodian chief operator Hang Phearun work side by side to inspect equipment, identify and address potential risks, and exchange technical knowledge, continuously improving their professional skills. Beyond their daily responsibilities, they share languages and cultures in their spare time, strengthening their friendship and mutual understanding.
