The literacy crisis isn’t that people can’t read the words. It’s that they can’t understand the context, infer meaning, recognise nuance, identify contradictions, or draw logical conclusions from what they’ve read.
Entry-level" pay shouldn't exist if "Entry-level" rent doesn't exist. If the cheapest apartment in the city is $1,800, the minimum wage in that city should start at $30 an hour. The math has to work for everyone, not just the landlord.
