Anaconda (2025)
4 friends take a trip to the Amazon to film a new version of the film "Anaconda".
Not wasting words here, you should know this is bad.
There's a scene where Steve Zahn pisses on Jack Black.
Big budget, no laughs.

Perrier's Bounty (2009)
A man on the run encounters the Irish underworld while reconnecting with his estranged father.
A great cast supports this well paced story of murder, mania & mayhem set in Dublin.
Unoriginal, but I think that's its charm.

Just a footnote to shout out Clint Eastwood's acting. He doesn't get plaudits for his acting, but his intensity is unmatched. I'd like to think that his subtle transformation from quiet family man to vengeful killer is carefully nuanced rather than a lack of range. Kudos Clint!
Unforgiven (1992)
An elderly gunman seeks one last bounty
Westerns are often simple; good guys, bad guys
This film develops engaging characters that work in the grey between
Eastwood is superb, the backdrop is beautiful, his movie is masterful

The Way Back (2010)
A group escapes a Siberian prison camp during WWII hoping to walk to India
Visually, a terrific movie shot in the harsh Siberian and Mongolian landscape.
Storywise, the movie labours & the characters lacked definition.
Difficult.

The Running Man (2025)
A man enters a game show where he needs to survive against 5 assassins.
Edgar Wright's biggest budget movie & boy did he have fun.
Closer to the book than the 80's film, so less kitchy & more character based.
Yee-ha!

The film would have been better to not tell me parts were fictionalised because the whole time I was questioning what was actually true. Apparently a teen leaving his country to live with 3 random adults is true. I just assumed that was the fiction because.....weird.
The Hurricane (1999)
A boxer fights to clear his name after being wrongly accused of murder.
As a rule, I don't like legal dramas, but Denzel Washington is terrific.
Without him, this is a $2 bargain bin telemovie.
Moving.

Poetic Justice (1993)
4 people undertake a road trip from LA to Oakland.
The profanity, n-words and screaming matches were relentless, which for a movie billed as a romance was surprising.
Jackson and Tupac were OK.
Not for me, maybe for you.

Lord Of The Flies (1963)
A group of schoolboys surviving a plane crash devise the social order of the island they land on.
The story is compelling & shocking but the child actors are inconsistent making it seem amateurish at times.
A must watch
