Congratulations to PhD student Artur Sass Braga (@ASassBraga) and Dr. Yves Filion (@queens_civil) on their published paper entitled “A novel monitoring scheme to detect iron oxide
particle deposits on the internal surface of PVC
drinking water pipes” @Network_CEC @BeatyCentr
The Drinking Water Quality Group would like to welcome new MASc students Susie Dunn and Laura Meteer co-supervised by Drs. Sarah Jane Payne and Yves Filion @queens_civil. Susie and Laura will be examining the mechanisms behind metal accumulation/mobilization in drinking water.
Artur Sass Braga (PhD candidate) and Dr. Yves Filion ( @Network_CEC) have submitted a paper to the journal Environmental Science: Water Research and Technology on a novel coupon/microscopy approach to monitor metals and sediments in drinking water pipes.
Dr. Yves Filion (@DWQGQueens) and Dr. Pascale Champagne (@Network_CEC @PChampagneBio RG) with their research group (RtoL: L. Vignale-PhD, V. Rilstone-PhD, J. Craddock-MASc, A. Sass Braga-PhD) are examining the development of resistance to antibiotics and metals in water systems.
Dr. Filion is part of a research team (Drs. Oleschuk, Ross, and She (Chemistry), Dr. John Rudan (Surgery), and Dr. Prameet Sheth (Bio Mol Sci) were awarded a Queen’s Wicked Ideas Grant ($75k) for their proposed research in characterizing the chemical signature of biofilms.
