Congratulations to Dr. @DWSvenson who did a masterful job of defending his PhD dissertation last week!! He’s destined to become great at whatever he does! Congratulations! @WSUPsychology
@scottbowen66@WSUPsychology Thank you, Scott! I feel like appreciation of your mentorship is in order here, as well. I could not have taken this on without you.
Hey, everyone. I'll be finishing my dissertation and defending in July. I've been looking for work for a while now, but I've been getting more serious as the end of my graduate tenure approaches. Please see my post below for more details.

My PhD advisor (@scottbowen66) offered expert testimony on Aaron Carter's overdose. A real tragedy. If there's any good to come from this it's that Carter's death shines a spotlight on an otherwise ignored societal epidemiological problem.

Published my first LinkedIn professional blog article. I intend to write more like this (even if only for personal enrichment). Follow the link below to learn more about the use of gold nanoparticles in developing novel pharmacotherapeutics: https://t.co/YLRDB7dzHP
@neurozabik Well, that’s good to hear, at least. I was worried that the series would fall off. I know that Frank Herbert’s son authored a spin-off series, as well. Not sure if I’ll read those haha.
@neurozabik Which book is that chronologically? I finished the second book before I started my dissertation experiments and intend to resume the series shortly.
This assumption often leads researchers to the erroneous conclusion that they have either proven or disproven a hypothesis. The p-value merely indicates the likelihood of observing the data given that the null hypothesis is true.
This article aptly summarizes my thoughts on NHST--the major thrust being that by reducing p-values to a binary with some threshold, we are giving the false impression that values above or below the threshold are categorically different from one another.

@MelisandeMarie Also, neuroscience and racial/social justice are not mutually exclusive! I often find that my research interests coincide with my political interests.

Tomorrow from 10:00 - 11:00 am, I will be presenting a method for detection of alkylbenzene compounds in biospecimens using gas chromatography at #SfN22. If you’re interested in learning more about new methodologies with potential clinical applications, come find me (TT13)!
To my colleagues who specialize in childhood development: I have a question regarding the disciplinary systems used in K-5. It would really help out my friend with her kindergartner.
In a year’s timespan, I defended my master’s thesis, wrote and defended my qualifying exam (45 page lit review), proposed my dissertation, and published two manuscripts. Currently, I’m in the thick of collecting my dissertation data. This has been a year of tremendous growth.
