I had a productive meeting with Grand Chief Pete of the Confederacy of Treaty 6 earlier this week. Thank you for the thoughtful discussion on key priorities, including Child and Family Services, and for your continued partnership.
I’m proud of my heritage — it’s part of who I am, every day. National Indigenous History Month is a time to celebrate our cultures, our stories, and the strength we carry.
Proud to see Canada stepping up to host Our Ocean Conference. Protecting our oceans means working in partnership, advancing Indigenous stewardship, and turning commitments into real action for communities and future generations.

To see this kind of hateful rhetoric on display in our communities is deeply disturbing. Today, I am thinking of all those in my region and across the country who feel targeted, unsafe or unwelcome because of who they are.
June is National Indigenous History Month. Join me in celebrating the histories, cultures, languages and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada. #NIHM2026
Today marked a historic turning point for First Nations across Ontario. The Chiefs of Ontario and Nishnawbe Aski Nation co-hosted a sacred ceremony in Ottawa to celebrate the official implementation of the $8.5 billion Ontario Final Agreement (OFA), reforming the FNCFS Program
Today, we marked the beginning of a historic new chapter for First Nations children & families in Ontario.
The Ontario Final Agreement is about more than funding. It’s about First Nations reclaiming the authority to care for their children according to their own law & cultures.
Earlier this month, @AbegweitMikmaq, Prince Edward Island, and Canada signed the first multilateral emergency management agreement in the country.
A historic example of self-determination in action.
Today, I joined Ministers @juliedabrusin and @EleanorO_MP, along with PS @coreyhoganyyc, to provide an update on the wildfire season.
As climate emergencies intensify, our government remains committed to working with First Nations on preparedness, response and recovery efforts.
Just over one week left to get out the vote for Minnie ❤️!
