I've been stubborn about a lot of silly things over the years. My "no Connery, no dice" stance on Bond is one. Tonight I'm finally giving Lazenby a chance:
“That was really special… it was magic. Each time I felt Ethan looking away, I would look at him and vice versa. I almost fell in love with him right there, but then Rick said cut.” - Julie Delpy

IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (1934)
The Colbert and Gable of this film became Americans' idealized view of themselves—breezy, likable, sexy, gallant, and maybe just a little harebrained. (It was the ANNIE HALL of its day—before the invention of anxiety.)
I rewatched the BEFORE SUNRISE trilogy. These are perfect films. I will always applaud Linklater, Hawke, and Delpy for ending the film on such a complicated note. A poignant commentary on how sometimes relationships need fantasy and reality in order to survive and be nurtured.
