Luke was tempted by a "kill baby Hitler" opportunity but was caught in that moment of weakness. That small mistake destroyed his relationship with his nephew, got his students killed, and the temple burned. His entire life's mission had been destroyed by his own hands. It makes sense he would be a little depressed and grumpy.
@japan_nobunaga Kansas and Missouri. The rivalry originated from the pre-Civil War period known as "Bleeding Kansas," where people were actually killing each other.
@ScriptTrooper The Empire is arrogant and overconfident. They could never imagine someone like Cassian Andor walking through their front door. This was already established with how he got the starpath unit.
@SkylarSkye3 Convenience. I can grab food or run errands without having to park my car and go inside the building. Although, sometimes that can be faster when there's a long line at the drive-thru.
@JKiui8 I think you would enjoy the movie more if you know the wider Star Wars lore and how the little bits and pieces are interconnected. But no, I don't think it's necessary. You should be able to understand the story and enjoy the movie without anything extra.
Boba Fett looks cool and moves like a predatory animal. The dented armor and scraped paint tell an interesting backstory that is left unspoken. A man of few words, but the words he does speak have weight. Someone with the confidence to confront Darth Vader, and recieve a level of earned respect in return. All of this creates mystery and intrigue that leaves the audience wanting to know more about the character. How could he not become a popular character?
@w4nkie@unforeseenbritt It's the postal abbreviation of the state. People do it out of habit and laziness. They don't think about a foreign audience not understanding what it means and needing to spell out the entire state name.
Captain America is Marvel's version of Superman: "Truth, Justice, and the American way."
He is the living embodiment of our values and ideals. The costume shows patriotism and love of country. He carries a shield because he is a protector, not an aggressor. He is supposed to be the best of us, and always does the right thing, even if it isn't easy or popular.
I'm pretty sure it's just a series of micro jumps so that it's harder to track where you're going.
In the EU books, if the enemy knew your launch point and vector, they could predict where you were going. In the new movies, they had developed true tracking through hyperspace. Skipping would confuse their trackers.
@fabiodeuxbeer@IHateItMost@eoinyk You're having an entirely different conversation than I am, apparently. I'm not even sure where we're going with this. What are we trying to accomplish?
