After hearing the story โBear Snores Onโ from De Zavala Librarian Mrs. Gonzalez, our Diamonds were tasked with creating hibernation shelters using KEVA Planks during their time in the library on Wednesday, January 10. #RattlerUp
Sharing my passion for teaching and flipping my classroom with others at #HaysCon was amazing!! Their enthusiasm & willingness to learn & try was fantastic!! I hope to work with them & help them along this journey! It was great to see @MsPowellteaches@CalliDaniel & A Urbanovski
We are more than a test score! Tomorrow is our first STAAR test and we practiced #SelfCare strategies like journaling, dancing, breathing, reading, eating/sleeping right, and topped it off with words of affirmation. 3rd grade confident! ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
These 3rd graders were excited to present their published opinion essays on Canva. I let them pick their own prompt, and they had to provide their claim with supporting evidence.

Author Study on Patricia Polacco. We used our INBs to compare author messages and record facts from her bio. We found out how she coped with Dyslexia and used her strengths to become a great writer and story teller.
I am SO excited to start incorporating Avatar: The Last Airbender in our lessons. Today we are discussing character traits and motivations, and how we connect to them. Never underestimate the value of including series and videogames in the classroom! #ATLA#Geekbender
Our student teacher helped students to sort our library into sub genres, series, and author collections. Love our Bobcats and watching kids take ownership of the books. Eat em up! @TXSTCOE@txst
Yesterday we went on a Blind Date with a Book. Students chose a mystery book to unwrap based on clues and yes, they had to date their book a bit before deciding if they enjoyed their time together. โค๏ธ Donโt judge a book by its cover!
At De Zavala, itโs all about our COMMUNITY! Morning PD from our amazing Parent Liaison Ms. Delgado & Communities in Schools coordinator Ms. Jackson. Followed by a fashion show featuring the trendiest wrapping paper fashions! ๐ @CISNational@educategalore@SanMarcosCISD
