SHADOW WARTHOGS HOME FROM IRAN — Exclusive Nose Art Drop at Moody AFB

These A-10C Thunderbolt IIs just rolled back onto the flight line at Moody AFB after flying combat operations in support of some very sensitive work over Iran.

A follower trusted me with these exclusive shots straight from the ramp. For obvious OPSEC reasons I’m not going any deeper on the missions, the units, or the timelines, but the jets themselves are talking loud and clear.

The Grim Reaper himself mid-swing.
King Dedede living his best life.
Diddy Kong riding a jet engine like it’s a banana barrel.

Macho Man Randy Savage — “The Cream of the Crop.”
Lil Mac throwing hands with the “K.O.” tally.
And Ridley, the Metroid nightmare, repping on the final frame.

These aren’t just morale paint jobs. Look at the rows of mission tallies and ordnance marks along the fuselages, every single one represents a real sortie into contested airspace. Did you guys catch the two boats??

One of these Warthogs was directly involved in the combat recovery of an F-15 pilot and weapons officer who went down over Iran. In the background of the shots you can see the F-15 tail with the words “That Others May Live”, the sacred motto of the rescue forces. When the call came, the A-10 answered. Close air support, on-station protection, and the quiet work of bringing our people home.

This is the side of airpower that stays in the gray. No fanfare. No press releases. Just lethal, ugly, beautiful Warthogs doing what they were built to do, and then disappearing back into the shadows until the next time they’re needed.

Huge respect to the crews who flew these jets home and to the follower who shared them with me.
