A woman was attacked on Kitsilano Beach in broad daylight with a piece of wood, left bleeding from the head and slipping in and out of consciousness.

The accused spent less than 48 hours in custody before being released back into the community.

It’s now 4 days since the tragedy of the sinking of a “charter boat” in the Strait of Georgia not far from Steveston. Four men and two women are presumed drowned. Four people were rescued. It’s very strange is that there remains today very little information about basic facts of this serious incident: name of the vessel and/or of the charter operator, the type of vessel, the intended destination when it departed Steveston and the purpose of the excursion, the names of those who perished, etc. Why has the media (what’s left of professional journalism) not pursued answers to these very basic questions?
