Not CEO’s fault that A&E for 37 patients is flooded with 95. KATH’s problem is inadequate capacity; not the CEO. Fix the problem & stop the optic circus. ‘You don’t blame the cook when the pot is too small’.
-Larteh Proverb😡!
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey What makes you think it was a let down. Lol going on the strike isnt an easy one. They was suppose to see it coming cos GMA issued a statement after a query letter was sent to the CEO. There is a teaching hospital that has changed 8-9 CEOs in 10 years. Issues still persist
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey Exactly, so with all these happenings, isnt fair for the GMA to think you kinda against them. Cos any independent investigative team should look at the issue wholistically
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey Many of you loose sight of the fact that, close to 80% of the medical/clinical dangers of were brought to bare in the form of evidence based research of which doctors contributed. GMA in 2024 called for a ban on small scale mining as well declaring solidarity for stop galamsey.
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey Did the committee address the issue of taking videos of a ward with patients lying down and sharing on social media when it has clearly been stated that no video/photography allowed. Thats a breech of privacy/confidentiality of others. Thats ethically wrong.
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey The minister failed to acknowledge the fact that in such instances your public mannerisms and gestures are very important. At the end, what did we see, nothing came our of that incident which further confirms what GMA assumed
@F_Edzeamey Tell me which part of the CEO's actions contradicts directives. At the end of the day he solved the issue with no casualty involved. His way of sorting out the issue is in accordance with standard practice and widely practiced elsewhere in places where these issues are seen.
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey The GMA spoke in effect to the circulating video and the minister's reaction to the individual (in the video) upon meeting. Oo there is balance
The A&e was NOT shut down. To shut down means the place was closed and HCWs not attending to patients.
That did not happen.
There was a TEMPORARY HALT in the admission of new cases due to congestion and overcrowding. At that point, the best course of action was taken to allow the redistribution of patients to other facilities and decongest the A&E.
Later, admissions were restored
@kwasianyane@F_Edzeamey That incident, put aside what the committee report brought out. Based on the videos you saw, was the right behaviour exhibited??
@yaa_aminu Health financing is an aspect that has to be looked at in this country. Quality healthcare is expensive but must be made affordable to the average Ghanaian. But justifiably some of the prices quoted at UGMC are not unreasonable. You can get a breakdown from the hospital.
@yaa_aminu 18K for 7 days admission. I am privy to someone paying 15K on admission in a public tertiary without insurance. Compare the 2 lets see. I cant comment on the 150K for fracture repair cos i dont know the type of procedure done and the type of fracture repaired.
@yaa_aminu 1800 for medical report to file for a local insurance is below rate. The standard price is between 2000 - 2500 so you got a discount of 200 cedis. There are standard prices for these things, we dont just quote them.
@yaa_aminu Cos UGMC operates differently and its same as Bank Hospital and IMH. Its pricing reflects private cum tertiary care economics and not public tertiary. Its even suppose to be upgraded to a quartenary status.
