@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins The car that arrived at the narrowed passage first? And has right of way as a result? I can’t believe you think there’s different rules of the road depending on what you’re operating on the road
@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins Ok bud, you’re right 👍🏻 cycling head on toward an oncoming car to prove a point is safe. Much safer than braking and waiting behind the bus to leave room for it to pass
@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins No but when riding a bike, I think your own safety is more important than proving who’s right isn’t it? Or are you more about proving a point than being practically reasonable?
@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins Again, you’re assuming people are taking care to utilise the mirrors, never assume, people should but often don’t
@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins Blind spots are a thing, never assume someone can see you, the same principle as never trust an indicator. Of course no one on the bus was in any danger…they’re on a bus??
@benjyminty @righttobikeit @muffmasterh@JackoHawkins Yes, but to allow a safe passing distance the cyclist should have also crossed the line to ensure the bus driver could see him passing for his own safety no? Personally I wouldn’t be taking the risk as a cyclist, better to yield right of way and come away uninjured
@princearchitect@Adespoto3@jordanox4@ChaponaBike123@Stanhods@foxtons That dude is an idiot. In the UK you are not supposed to attempt to overtake a vehicle that’s approaching a junction with their signal on to complete a turn. Patience by the cyclist in this case would’ve been the safer option
@LiamOGrady2 @leaky1164779 @righttobikeit And a bike is not allowed to pass a car on the left hand side when a car has signalled and has not yet completed its manoeuvre. Initially it looked like he was trying to parallel park in a parking spot until the cyclist got too close behind
@LiamOGrady2 @poyntz_joh37715@Sam24116 @righttobikeit “Brit plank” - Liam I’m seeing a trend of you attempting to use people’s nationalities as an insult, what’s the word for that again?
@LiamOGrady2 @DonieG2@poyntz_joh37715@Sam24116 @righttobikeit It’s a disease to be English? There’s the lovely modern thinking we need in the world Liam
