Half the reason so many adults feel nostalgic about college is because it was the only time they lived in highly social, walkable communities where they saw their friends every day, rarely needed cars, and were surrounded by neighborhoods designed to foster connection.
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
This is called relating and it’s part of building human bonds. You’re not a reality tv star, you don’t just perform for an audience. People talk to each other. That’s how this works.
