The Gillman store opened today in Muncie! We are excited they chose the South side. The timing was impeccable saving us from the railroad crossing debacle.
Took Howard the bulldog for a ride in the truck. I felt the love as he sat next to me the whole time. The bubble burst when we arrived and I found I was sitting on his leash.
We had a pleasant experience at Menards last night that before would have upset me. In the dark and cold the yard worker devoted 20 min. to find an item that had been stocked in the wrong location. He had a good spirit about it and it was contagious. Blessings were exchanged.
Free meal distribution at Cowan Elementary tonight (Nov 3rd) from 4:30-6:00pm for any child under the age of 18 not currently getting a school meal daily. All are welcome. @Cowan_Athletics@CowanBlackhawks@ElementaryCowan
@davidrawls77 I am sorry for your loss, and certainly these are mile markers in life. Being in a better place, I pray they appreciate our grief as it is with our present tense.
I share of disappointments but hope that a portion have grown, learning to care for another by our social actions
Mowed the yard for the first time in 2 years. Almost felt accomplished. As others are too, missing Daniel Wright already! Prayers for him in this new, exciting stage of life.
Worked downtown in the new building today. Bathrooms aren't ready so there is a porta potty, that one in the parking lot across from the bus station. Yep, been there-done that.
Operated the door with offhand pinky finger. Used a day's worth of hand sanitizer.
Some advantages I find wearing my mask:
I 'speak' more rather than smile or nod in greeting.
It gives an early warning that I need to freshen my breath.
That clump of nose hair/booger I catch in the mirror at the end of the day doesn't have the same emotional impact.
Fixed (for real) the fence with @_drewwright this evening. It had suffered many abuses including tree limbs and The Bachelor replays. Now it is all dog proof for Howard. So excited this is done. Finished The Cruise of the Snark, now starting his wife's book, Log of the Snark.
Accidently cut 6 inches off the cable with the recip saw at Nat's, drama ensued. 10 minute fix today by the cable guy. So, I am now taking a vacation from work and from @nat_jones32 house. I used paper drywall tape in the closet too. Finished my book and hung out in the shop.
Day 1 of PTO:
Rough carpentry at Nat's.
Cleaned our gutters, the kind that start to look like flower boxes. Fixed a rotted window sill, still to paint.
Started "The Cruise of the Snark" by London. As last night's grilling was enough for 3 days, took the night off.
Starting PTO for a week +1 day!! It's a staycation with a to-do list at hand. Looking forward to seeing how far I get and how long I go without checking email.
It was great to celebrate Daniel Wright's graduation. The weather could not put a damper on the event and it was great reconnecting with folks face to face. Congrats Ezra.
Close friends (Drew) will joke with me about my affinity for JBWeld. Lately it's been super glue which I had great success with MDF and projects including Nats infamous sunglasses holder in the Ford, now moved to a new owner- good repair not a hack. Also detailed the engine.
