He doesn’t have a locker room problem every year. He has a WR issue every year, and it’s always the same one. Yeah, this season the team has had way too many penalties, but that’s not the norm. And look, if you don’t think Nick is good, that’s fine. But the same criticisms you’re putting on him are the same ones people try to put on Jalen, and we push back on those every time.
I want this coach and QB to stay together, but I also understand they both have flaws. Get an OC who can build a system that lets Jalen flourish, get that WR settled, and get everyone on the same page. I’m not throwing away the core of this team. If y’all want to, go ahead.
As I’ve said before, moving forward with this Eagles team, maybe it’s next season, but I want to see Tanner McKee in Nick’s system. Or I need to see Jalen Hurts with an OC who’s actually running their own system. This QB vs system debate on offense is killing the whole season.
@pushkeys_@wackenut23714 He’s a Super Bowl winning coach who’s never missed the playoffs. He’s clearly doing something right. He’s just not a great offensive mind. That’s why you bring in an OC who can call their own plays. Let him be a CEO coach. That’s what Harbaugh is, and it works for the Ravens. 🤷🏾♂️
@LesBowen just read about your fight with Jeff McLane. If that story is true, you’re a real legend in the papers and in the streets. 😂 I was a kid back then, but trust me, you’re an inspiration.
Lesson: don’t let anyone tear down what you worked hard to build. And if they try, tread lightly. Respect to an OG.
Even if it ends and SB, we can’t have another season where the offense is like this. It has to marry the QB and his style. This offense does nothing to maximize Jalen. That why I said, if they’re going to run it then Tanner has to be the guy. We’ve seen this show for 3 yrs now. I want a new OC who runs their own. Honestly.
@fred15998636 The Eagles only have two real options this off-season. Get Jalen an OC who runs their own system, or stick with Nick’s system and go with another QB, most likely Tanner McKee. I’m not breaking news, this is the reality. They cannot run it back the same way next year.
don’t know. But I’ve got plenty of evidence that this system does not match Jalen Hurts’ skill set. So if they’re going to force this system on us, I want to see the other guy run it. It’s not complicated. I gave two options. I didn’t endorse either one. This is just the reality of the Eagles right now. Nick’s system and Jalen aren’t a fit. So either you bring in an OC who runs their own scheme, or if they insist on sticking with Nick’s scheme, I need to see Tanner run it.
I’m a pro-Hurts guy. I have tons of tweets proving that. Didn’t think this one would be so hard for some people to comprehend.
@wackenut23714 I want to see him play with an OC who calls their own system. That’s the second part of that tweet. If Nick system stays next season Tanner needs to run it. If an OC with power to run their system then Jalen is the guy. Pretty simple honestly
@ThingSomeRandom @SaveMePhilly Or we can do the second part of my tweet that people conveniently ignore. Bring in an OC who will run their own offense. I’ll take O’Connell. I’m sure Vikings want to keep him but that kind of coaching tree works.
If the simple solution was “fire Nick,” cool, problem solved. But the Eagles are not firing Nick. So here’s the real situation. If Nick’s offense is staying, then Jalen isn’t the QB for that offense. The logical choice in that case is Tanner, since people think he fits the timing and rhythm stuff better. OR we make Nick the CEO and bring in an OC who actually runs their own system.
Nothing is fixing the offense as it is right now. The “reports” say Jalen doesn’t throw in rhythm or timing, and people act like that’s the magic key to making this thing work. I think the offense is just limited. So as fans, these are the only real options. Nick isn’t going anywhere.
Why does nobody see the OR? People keep retweeting off the first half, so let me spell it out. I don’t think Jalen is the problem. But he cannot be the QB in THIS system. So it’s either Tanner in this system, since so many swear he’d be better, OR Jalen with an OC who runs their own offense. Next season, those are the options. It’s simple. It’s not a crazy take.
Dan, we all know your whole act is for engagement. You never do this when pro-Hurts guys come on your show and tell you you’re wrong. Hurts hasn’t changed at all. He leads by example, he takes responsibility, and he speaks for the whole team. What more do you want? For him to hype up million-dollar athletes to do their job and act professional?
This is stupid. These dudes make millions to run around on grass. It shouldn’t be that hard to show up, do your job, and carry yourself like a pro.
@MostlyEagles Bro, you retweeting my tweet got people on my head, and you and I have literally tagged team Hurts haters on this app. I’m offended that you thought I switched sides. 😂😂😂
That’s why I said let them run their offense. No more Nick scheme. He can help with RPOs, the tush push, short yardage stuff he was good at in Indy, but the offense should belong to the OC. Nick’s primary job should be everything else a head coach handles. Media, culture, fixing issues, boosting morale. The stuff Mike McDaniel isnt that good at.
I like Nick. I just think he needs to be the CEO and culture guy. Let Vic run the defense, let Mike or one of those guys run the offense, and let Nick run the team. 🤷🏾♂️ The players love him and they play for him. He’s just not a great offensive mind. Take that part off his plate and let him do everything else he’s actually good at.
@SaveMePhilly It’s all good. 😂 The follow up is just as important, which was “ I need to see Jalen with an OC calling his own”. Did think is was going to be taking as some scathing take.
