this is unfair,
On Completion of my housemanship in 2022, there was massive scarcity of newly inducted medical doctors due to the lengthy ASUU strike that year, that strike lasted almost 8 months or so.
To help mitigate the impending staffing crisis, the ARD president worked closely with the CMD to negotiate an "extension with pay for interested house officers",
(something like a glorified MO).
but we were still gonna be paid HO salary,
and it made sense to us.
some of us did one month, some went on to do even 3 months.
I did 2 months before I refused to renew my contract before going straight into the locum market.
