Great Saturday with @ctrocconi celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Front Cafe, the oldest continuously run juke joint in Mississippi. Opened in 1948 by Carey & Mary Holmes in Bentonia, MS. Jimmy “duck” Holmes, their son & Grammy nominated blues musician took over in 1970 and continues to operate this wonderful place today. Part of the Mississippi Blues Trail, it sends you back in time as if your sitting on the front porch strumming a guitar. Jimmy is as kind as they come and spent hours talking with guests, signing autographs (including my poster) & played a set as well. Happy anniversary & Here’s to 75 more. #mississippiBLUES
