1/ My mementos of Ferguson 2014 fit a small plastic bag near my desk. A taped-together DIY press pass (RIP RFT <3).
And some things police shot at me. A pepper-spray ball. Some wood. A plastic disk I picked off the ground after something (too fast to see) hit me in the knee.
My first job out of college was in a rural community. It paid me less than $20,000.
The newspaper’s at-the-time corporate owners whittled down the staff and ultimately sold it. The new owner fired the entire unionized staff shortly after.

Bailey manages to confirm and deny his argument, explaining the *legal harm* of reducing teen births in Missouri is "fewer people."
Bailey's rebuttal [w/context]:

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey advances arguments made in Project 2025, says the obscenity laws in the Comstock Act of 1873 should prevent the mailing of abortion pills.
I also ask him to explain his legal brief claiming declining teen pregnancies is bad for Missouri.
Quick reminder: A decade ago, 5,000+ abortions were performed in MO. In 2020, the total dropped to 167 due to “targeted regulation of abortion providers” laws, including a 72-hr waiting period.
June 2022 - July 2024: 74 abortions happened under the state’s emergency exemption.
Last night, U.S. District Court Judge Sarah Pitlyk denied Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft's attempt to block federal election observers from polling places in St. Louis, saying the harm Missouri would feel by their presence is merely "speculative"
My new favorite exorcism fact is one of the men tasked with the exorcism didn’t know he was even on his way to the exorcism. Pulled up completely unaware!!

"In many states, [the # of annual] abortions performed due to rape are in the single digits or, in some cases, zero.
One reason for that is because in many states, rape victims who want an abortion are required to report their assault to law enforcement." https://t.co/mANzBvh7Dz
