I can even understand being angry that Peters has now used 3 3rd round picks on the same position.

I think the disconnect with fans last night and Williams was that people didn’t realize just how big of a need slot WR is in this offense. If we are indeed moving to a Ben Johnson style offense.

His slot WRs have been:

- Amon Ra St Brown
- Keenan Allen
- Luther Burden

Yes. We need an outside WR too. But you can’t just put any WR in the slot. It’s a completely different position that even some of the best WRs in but NFL won’t fit. It’s not just putting 3 WR on the field regardless of skillset

To me we didn’t need 1 WR. We needed 2. An outside WR AND a slot. And I fully understand the thinking that Aiyuk shouldn’t be the outside.

Your WR1 is Terry. He plays outside. And you may not want to hear this but Aiyuk is coming and Peters believes in him more than most do. He plays outside
