@VandyonTigers Keith/McGonigle aren't really comparable. Don't have Boras as an agent & the deals paid more upfront to save $ in Arb years. Don't think $ is the issue with Skubal. It's the length of the deal. I'd bet the Tigers would pay $50M/Yr if it was a 5 Yr deal. Boras likely wants 8+ Yrs
@tigers Remember when people were talking about how the Tigers were the first team in MLB history to have 3 Relievers with 20+ Saves each in the previous season? Well turns out all 3 suck.
15 Blown Saves as a team in 25 Opportunities, including 2 tonight.
@DetroitTankCity That was not what you originally asked for. You keep moving the goalposts.
But Torres, Holton and Finnegan are still here and they've been All Star level players multiple seasons. Torres hasn't been healthy since last June.
Not to mention Framber, Jansen or McGonigle.
@DetroitTankCity Average Position Player and SP WAR per season is around 2.0 and 0.5 for Relievers.
2025:
Gleybor 2.9 (All Star)
ZMcK 2.8 (All Star)
Finnegan 0.8
2024:
Holton 3.2
Vierling 2.8
Flaherty 2.5
Guenther 1.0
Hanifee 0.9
Chafin 0.5
2023:
Holton 2.9
Ibanez 1.9
Lorenzen 1.9 (All Star)
@DetroitTankCity Nope. Just someone who enjoys stats and facts.
Don't get me wrong, Harris could do better. I've been frustrated with him many times. But he's far from terrible and you asked for a list of successful additions. I provided that list.
@DetroitTankCity And this is not including McGonigle or players added for 2026 like Framber and Jansen who will almost definitely be above average WAR players.
@DetroitTankCity Harris has added 10 players from 23-25 that had at least 1 szn of Average WAR at their position
6 of those players had at least 1 Above Average/All Star level WAR szn
On average, Harris has added about 3.5 quality MLB players and 2 Above Average/All Star level players, per szn
@BNightengale This narrative is annoying. We have scored 2.29 Runs/Game since May 4... we've scored more than 3 runs twice in 14 games.. Is Skubal important? of course.. but he pitches 1/5 games. Even if Skubal made all of his starts and we won every start, we'd still be 4-10 since May 4.
@h3at23@MySportsUpdate@Ravens Lions pulled thier offer after Simpson was taken at 13 because they wanted to see if LA took a Tackle or not. So their offer was still on the table after Proctor went at 12. Proctor isn't a Holmes/Campbell type of player. Miller couldn't be more of a Holmes/Campbell guy.
@Don28653676@MySportsUpdate@Ravens Proctor is not even a Holmes/Campbell type player.. sure he's a great athlete, but he has concerns of being lazy and adding too much weight when he's off the field. Nick Saban himself said Proctor is a good kid and will do what you ask IF you can get him in the building..
@h3at23@MySportsUpdate@Ravens Go watch the video and see Holmes face light up when asked if he tried to trade up for Miller. Even talked with teams higher up the board than the Ravens. If you know Brad, if he loves a player, he will overpay to trade up. If he loved a Proctor, he would've pulled the trigger.
@MarcRyanOnAir Anyone who understands Brad and Dan knows Proctor was never a real option. It was a smoke screen if anything . He does not fit the character or culture mold. No chance Brad spends a 1st on him. Brad literally said he tried to trade up for Miller until about pick 14.
