Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. @himantabiswa Sir Took the Salute at the Passing Out Parade of 32 DySPs and 371 Constables (Communication) at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, Dergaon.

They now move from training to duty, carrying the responsibility of serving Assam with professionalism, courage and integrity.

The 6th Conference of Senior Superintendents of Police began today at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, Dergaon.

Chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. @himantabiswa Sir, the two-day conference brings together senior officers for focused deliberations on law & order, the fight against drugs, crimes against women & children and other key policing priorities.

The priorities are clear - modern smart policing, greater use of newest technologies, and building a more responsive, citizen-centric Police.

The 52nd Onshore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC) Meeting was held today at Assam Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of DGP Assam Shri @HardiSpeaks

The multi-stakeholder meeting brought together heads of Oil & Mining Companies, senior officers of Assam Police, NIA and other organisations for deliberations on strengthening coordination, intelligence sharing and security of vital installations across the State.

With reference to the investigation related to the unfortunate demise of Manasjyoti Chetia at Bihubar, Sivasagar, as directed by Hon’ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa, Assam Police is taking serious steps to unearth the truth.

Bihubar PS Case No. 10/26 u/s 103(1)/3(5) BNS has already been registered in the matter and a thorough investigation initiated by SSP Sivasagar, Smti Papori Chetia, APS who is personally supervising it on the ground.

Shri KJ Saikia, IPS, IG (ER) is on way to Bihubar, while. Dr. Robin Kumar IPS, DIG AP Hqrs and a Forensic Team has also proceeded from Guwahati to Sivasagar for the investigation.

Cyber criminals and online predators are misusing children’s photos and personal details from social media for CSAM, AI morphing, grooming, sextortion, cyberbullying and identity theft.

Schools are advised to avoid posting identifiable photos, names, class details, locations or real-time updates involving minors, and ensure strict review before sharing any child-related content online.

Crime Rate per lakh population is down to 100.2 from 121.5 in 2025 n 349.5 in 2021

Case Pendency is down to 10,902 from 11,140 in 2025 n 133,982 in 2021

Monthly average registration of cases is down to 3,065 from 3682.9 in 2025 n 11103.3 in 2021

Charge Sheet Rate improved to 86.04% from 81.46 in 2025 n 39.40 in 2021
