My new Bag of Holding didn’t quite make the trip out to Calgary last weekend. Received all the goodness yesterday. Here’s the old and the new. @Rollacrit
@TheSGEM@VPrasadMDMPH She only had one treatment of the third chemo, before we were told it was doing more harm than good. The transition to pure palliative care was scary, that brought the edge of the world into focus. Once her hair started growing back I knew the cancer was growing again.
@TheSGEM@VPrasadMDMPH The medical oncologist was brutally honest in the first five minutes. Giving us survival rates at various intervals. She beat the odds, partly due to her strength but also to little goals. Wedding, vacation, weekend away, etc. But there’s only one question: How many sunsets?
@TheSGEM@VPrasadMDMPH We grieved individually and alone. Tears were shared, but also happiness and mirth. The treatment gave us time to make memories, I know we were fortunate, and chemo can be brutal. The first few months were absolute hell, but slowed the spread. It nearly destroyed her body.
@rail613 saw my first single train at Mo real Rd station today. They’re still finishing slinging cables up to Jeanne d’Arc. Station designs continue to baffle me. It seems the stairways will be open air with jumper fencing around them. A little prison atmosphere.
@Humbledore@BowersWrites The very reluctance of the government in acknowledging the intensity of the situation is pretty much why I recommended it. The men and women who put their lives on the line should be acknowledged, and not swept under the rug. The Balkans mission was drought with peril.
Many questions about #LongCOVID are answered here: https://t.co/KR8yyJx4M1
Sad:
Do people get over long #Covid ?
Some people come back & say, “I feel better” or “I feel I improved.” If you dig a little bit deeper, they did not get back to their baseline; they adjusted their baseline. They used to be able to walk the dog 3 blocks out of the house & now they only do a half a block.
Recovery, unfortunately — for fatigue & dysautonomia — is actually quite rare.
@olivekosheluk @abbythetweet @KanoodleTV@RodKahx And face it, there isn’t one democratic country where politicians are influenced by non-voting entities and lobbyists. That to me is a greater threat to the democratic process: politicians should always answer only to the electorate.
