@HTJ_TCA@Palpably_Unfair@esidery@AdamSchefter Seems like you and others only care about how tax money is spent if it benefits the Bears. Do you care about the taxpayer or not? What's the benefit of that and all the pension spiking IL has? You've been vocal about that too, correct?
@Betsycashmoney@SanchoPanzy That ordinance wouldn't prevent a public stadium from being built. The Lucas museum stopped plans because a non-govt entity with way too much power sued. And you won't answer my question. Would you support a publicly owned stadium in the Museum Campus if the Bears paid for it?
@Betsycashmoney@SanchoPanzy Do you realize how much more valuable a condo dt on the lake would be? Also the Bears AH plan includes retail, hotels, residential, etc. The stadium would only take up a fraction of the 300+ acres
@HTJ_TCA@Palpably_Unfair@esidery@AdamSchefter Natural gas for a business is a lot different than freeway and mass transit expansions. Have you ever had a business pay 900mm for more natural gas. And the infrastructure upgrades will benefit the entire area.
@HTJ_TCA@Palpably_Unfair@esidery@AdamSchefter OMG can't believe the Bears are asking for $$ to pay for public infrastructure. The nerve! I definitely paid for the paved road in front of my house.
@Betsycashmoney Yes they want a modern stadium that brings in much more revenue and are willing to pay for it. So you'd be good with that? IL just pays for infrastructure and Bears pay no taxes??
@Betsycashmoney Way to move the goalposts! Also you realize for most publicly owned stadiums the teams get virtually the same benefits (revenue, etc.) but pay zero property taxes. Would you be OK with that agreement?
@jacobinfante24 Leverage, yes. But they've gotten everything they need from IN. They're doing everything they can to get IL to get something done. Its obv they want to stay in the state otherwise this saga would've been over long ago. The clock is ticking.
@AdamHoge The announcement was just another negotiating tactic. They haven't picked a site yet. It was a warning that ILL is running out of time. Question is if they don't call a special session will the Bears give them until Nov??
