2015.
Na that year everything start.

When I open page for Man Utd in Pidgin, people laugh.
Dem say, “Who go read football news for Pidgin?”

But I believe something.

I believe say language no be barrier, na bridge.
I believe say our people deserve hear global football gist for the way dem dey talk for house.

At first, e no easy.

No blueprint.
No example to follow.
Just passion… and stubborn belief.

Every post na fight.
Every engagement na small victory.
Every share na confirmation say I no dey crazy.

Then something happen.

The page blow.

People begin notice.
People begin copy.
Suddenly Pidgin no be “local” again, e become strategy.

Then we start see big names enter the space.

BBC Pidgin show face.
Clubs like As Roma try am.

People begin take Pidgin serious.

And I smile… because I know where the seed come from.

But make I talk truth.

Instant success no mean long survival.

Eleven years later, the same road still rough.

Some pages don stop.
Some don tire.
Some don disappear quietly.

AsRomaPidgin no dey again.

Many dreams fade with time.
When engagement drop.
When passion meet reality.

Because pushing Pidgin content no be beans.

You dey fight perception.
You dey fight people wey still believe say English na the only language wey fit carry value.

Sometimes you go ask yourself:

“E worth am?”

But every morning, I still show up.

Not because e easy.
But because e matter.

Pidgin no be joke language.
Pidgin no be inferior language.
Pidgin na identity.
Pidgin na culture.
Pidgin na voice.

And if nobody protect am, who go do am?

I don watch many start.
I don watch many stop.

But me?

I still dey here.

Still posting.
Still translating global football into our own voice.
Still proving say consistency louder than hype.

No be every pioneer dem go celebrate immediately.

But history dey remember who stay.

Eleven years later, I no just build page.
I build movement.

And as long as I get voice,
as long as people still dey read,
as long as one person comment “Omo this sweet for Pidgin”

I go continue.

Because sometimes,
putting Pidgin on the map no be about trending.

Na about staying.

Many Nigerians of today don’t realize this:

There was a time when government ministers, top officials, permanent secretaries could not boldly send their children abroad or to elite private schools.

They used public schools.

Yes. During the era of Sani Abacha.

Same thing with hospitals.

If you were in government, you were expected to use Nigerian public hospitals.

When the people in power depend on the same system as the people without power, the system cannot afford to fail.

Unity Schools were strong.
Public hospitals functioned.
Standards were defended.

Why?

Because the children of decision-makers were sitting in those classrooms.
Because the families of powerful people were lying on those hospital beds.

Today?

The political class flies their children abroad.
They build private estates with private schools.
They seek medical care in London, India, Dubai.

And the public system collapses.

A system dies the moment its elites can escape it.

Maybe the real reform Nigeria needs is simple:

If you hold public office, your children must attend Nigerian-accredited public schools.
If you lead the country, you must use its hospitals.

No exceptions.
