That means the galaxies and ancient plasma that emitted those photons are now vastly farther away than the simple “13.8 billion light-years” age of the cosmos would suggest.

Today the observable universe spans an estimated radius of about 46.5 billion light-years—roughly 93 billion light-years from end to end.

But don’t picture a hard edge or cosmic wall. That 46.5-billion-light-year figure is simply the particle horizon: the farthest distance from which light has had time to reach us since the Big Bang. Beyond it lies more universe, forever hidden from our view by the relentless stretch of expanding space.

أمس، وقع حادث غير اعتيادي في مطار ميونيخ:

واجهت طائرة ركاب تابعة لشركة "فييتنام إيرلاينز"، وكانت متجهة إلى هانوي، صعوبات أثناء الإقلاع، وتجاوزت مسافة الإقلاع المخصصة لها. (الفيديو1)

بعد أن أقلعت الطائرة، تم اكتشاف عطل. قضت الطائرة حوالي ساعتين في الجو، حيث قامت بتفريغ الوقود دون التوجه إلى وجهتها. (الفيديو2)

واجهت الطائرة أيضا صعوبات أثناء الهبوط، ويمكن رؤية انفجار جزء من الإطارات عند ملامستها للأرض في تسجيل الفيديو.

رفضت الشركة الكشف عن طبيعة العطل، لكنها أثنت على طاقم الطائرة على تصرفاتهم الصحيحة.
