@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie Like I said you are just trying to find a way to get offended at this point when transpeople are killed all the time for not telling a potential partner.
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie I completely disagree but to each their own I suppose.
Why wouldn’t you just tell someone you are trans beforehand anyway?
Do you want to date someone that is transphobic? Do you want to go out with someone who is revolted by your existence? It doesn’t make sense.
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie That’s completely different.
You shouldn’t be raped for the clothing you are wearing just like you shouldn’t be attacked for being trans.
What I’m saying is preventing tragedy.
Also why would you want to go out with a bigot to begin with?
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie I debate transphobes all the time.
My view just comes from wanting transpeople safe. That’s it.
I’ve dated transwoman, donated to trans gofundmes, volunteered at Pride, etc…. And I will continue to be an ally.
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie And I agree it needs to be changed but it’s still on the books.
I mean at this point which is easier - someone letting a potential partner know they are trans beforehand or them finding out later and assaulting or killing them?
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie Okay - transpeople are killed all the time by those that fear and hate them. Many states legit have laws allowing a defense of “I was tricked” if a person kills a transperson.
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie What law can change how others see transpeople?
I’m from the South originally and would love to see you try to “educate” a bunch of hillbillies/rednecks on gender studies. They won’t understand and will call you slurs.
Yes, obviously parents need to teach their kids.
@Veruca_Sa1t@tifasweetie You do realize this is about the safety of the transwoman right?
Transphobes for the most part can’t have their minds changed and will hurt or kill transpeople which I don’t want to happen.
You are trying to find a way to get offended when I’m an ally.
