Yesterday, we lost a cherished member of our family.
We got Sunny at the start of our second term in the White House, and all of us – including our first dog, Bo – immediately fell in love. We also had trouble keeping up with her, for Sunny was a force of nature. Athletic and full of boundless energy, she leapt over the hedges on the South Lawn like they weren’t even there, chasing squirrels, birds and anything else that moved. And whereas the way to Bo’s heart usually involved a treat, Sunny was more interested in having us run around with her, roll on the floor with her, or have her belly rubbed for as long as we were willing.
She loved the girls, even if they were pestering her when she was napping. She loved our team, and would often follow them around, helping them on the job. She was fiercely protective of Bo, who she rightly sensed wasn’t always as alert and attentive as she was. She had her eccentricities: other than Bo, she preferred people to dogs; she was a loud and sloppy drinker; and despite being a Portuguese Water Dog, she hated getting wet.
But as far as our family was concerned, she was pretty much perfect, and for thirteen years, she would be by our side – always loyal, always sweet, always ready for adventure, still fiery and gorgeous till the very end of her days.
We will miss her terribly, and imagine she’s with her big brother now, making sure he’s okay.
Day 114: Crazy to think I could still be playing in the MASL had the team made playoffs. It feels like we got sent home so early😭 At least we ended on a win & I got my very first point in the league. That’s gotta count for something. Very interesting playoffs nonetheless.
…on our own. I got a lot of footage to look through so I can perfect my craft. Season doesn’t start up again for a long time so I gotta stay in shape and keep my touch SHARP. Can’t wait💪.
Day 108: Finished the season off strong. Looks like they have found a NEW position for me. I’m going to be defending BUT from up top. They call it a runner. I got a LOT of playing time the last two home games. Turns out we not having any scheduled practices so we gotta grind…
Because once I do I will be unstoppable. This league is tough. A lot tougher than it looks. The energy and skill level is an incredible thing to get witness first hand. I love it.
Day 77: I finally got to make my home debut making it official-official in my book. So far I have appeared in 5 matches. Milwaukee where I only played 2mins. Chihuahua where I got to sub in 2s for the last quarter. Chihuahua again where I subbed in 3s for the first 3 quarters…
Mesquite where I only played about 5 mins. And finally at home where I subbed in 3s for the first half. I never know if I’m going to be called up or not and then when I do get called up I never know how much I’m going to play. I’m still trying to build some more confidence…
Day 56: VOY A MÉXICO MAÑANA OTRA VEZ… crazy story… I was told on Tuesday that I was going to be playing GOALIE. Backup goalie cuz we were OUT of eligible keepers. But then we ran OUT of defenders so they put me back on defense & someone else filled in for BACKUP keep.🙏😅
